Playing Dead (a Possum poem) By Anthony Seidman
Cover by Cheryl Gross
20 page saddle stitch chapbook.
Anthony Seidman explores both his relationship to the San Fernando valley as well as the life of the Possum (an invasive creature to the region) and how both of those elements tie together. His language is at once lyrical and deeply moving. He has the ability to make even the most minute moments in life seem profound in the larger scheme of things – from overhearing the thong song by Cisco, to waking up in the morning. This chapbook length poem collects a day in the life of a possum.
